Spicy Sauce

Yield 7 cups

Ingredients

  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 large sweet onions, sliced
  • 1/3 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 bay leaf

How to Make It

  1. Bring all ingredients to a boil in a Dutch oven over medium heat; reduce heat to low. Cook 1 hour. Cool. Discard bay leaf.
