The name is accurate: make this only if you like assertive flavors, which we do. Made to recipe (with dates) but had to bake 25 minutes longer til the pears were tender -- you may want to use all-apple. Very good, loved the gingersnap crumbs. Served for dessert following CL's pork with pomegranate pan sauce.

I love this crisp. More ingredients than the usual crisp but it is sooooooooooooo worth it. I can't wait until fall to make it!!
