Spiced Hard Sauce

Add extra decadence to Gingerbread Muffins by topping with Spiced Hard Sauce.

1 cup butter, softened
2 tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 cups powdered sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract


Beat butter, milk, cinnamon, and nutmeg at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla, beating until light and fluffy.


To make ahead: Prepare as directed. Chill in an airtight container up to 1 week. Let stand 20 minutes before using.
