  • 6 cups shelled fresh butter beans
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 medium-size green pepper, chopped
  • 1/4 pound salt pork, sliced

How to Make It

  1. Place beans with water to cover in a Dutch oven. Add salt, green pepper, and salt pork; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook, uncovered, over low heat 50 minutes or until beans are tender.
