Hands-on time 5 mins
Total time 5 mins
Yield 6 servings
Blood oranges come into season just in time for the winter holidays, their crimson flesh producing a sweet juice with festive color. Paired with fresh lime for bright acidity and good-quality tequila, this drink is a great way to spin a new start on the holiday festivities.

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh blood orange juice
  • 1 cup white tequila
  • 1/2 cup red vermouth
  • 1/4 cup agave nectar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 cup sparkling water
  • Garnish: blood orange wedges

How to Make It

  1. Stir together first 5 ingredients in a pitcher. Chill until ready to serve.

  2. Fill 6 highball glasses with ice. Pour about 1/2 cup blood orange mixture into each glass. Fill each glass with 2 Tbsp. sparkling water; stir. Garnish, if desired. Serve immediately.
