I have always bought sweet tea by the gallon at the store or from Lipton's sweet leaf. This is a much cheaper way to go considering that I got a box of 100 tea bags for $1.00 and a bag of sugar for cheap as well. The recipe is delicious and I would make it again. Check out my blog at

I used the Tazo brand of black tea for this recipe with the full cup of sugar and it turned out great! Very refreshing

Having grown up in the South, I have to say this isn't exactly right. We always used more tea bags and 1.5 to 2 cups of sugar. Now that's "really sweet tea."

A cup of sugar for 10 cups of tea? That's too sweet even by Southern standards, LOL. I use one cup of sugar per gallon of tea, and it is still really sweet. A gallon only lasts 2 days at most in my house. (this recipe only calls for 10 cups of water total. There are 16 cups in a gallon)

I always use Luzianne tea, it makes the best sweet tea.
