Start your party with Southern 75, a signature cocktail featuring bourbon, hard cider, lemon juice, and powdered sugar. For a dramatic presentation, garnish each drink with your choice of apple slices or a sprig of fresh rosemary.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups chilled hard cider (such as Angry Orchard)
  • Garnish: apple slices, lemon curls, or rosemary sprigs

Preparation

  1. Stir together bourbon, lemon juice, and powdered sugar in a pitcher until sugar dissolves (about 30 seconds). Cover and chill 3 hours. Divide among 8 Champagne flutes; top each with 1/4 cup chilled hard cider (such as Angry Orchard). Garnish, if desired.
  2. Make-Ahead Tip: Mix together the first 3 ingredients of this twist on a classic French 75 up to 24 hours ahead.
