Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Hearty Meat Sauce
  • 1 cup drained canned low-sodium pinto beans
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon seeded, chopped jalapeno pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 tablespoon shredded reduced-fat Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro

Preparation

  1. Combine first 7 ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. To serve, ladle chili into 2 bowls; sprinkle evenly with cheese, green onions, and cilantro.
