Sour Cream Dressing

Yield 1 1/3 cups


  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • Dash of paprika
  • 1 (8-ounce) carton commercial sour cream

How to Make It

  1. Combine all ingredients except sour cream in top of double boiler, stirring well. Bring water to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook, stirring gently, until thickened. Cool slightly, and add sour cream; stir well. Chill.
