Snow Cone Syrup
If you're longing for a homemade snow cone to cool off in the summer heat, this syrup recipe is just the ticket. You're not limited to lemonade, however–feel free to substitute your favorite flavored drink mix. For more cool treats, see our collection of ice cream recipes.

Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 1 (0.23-oz.) envelope unsweetened lemonade drink mix
- Crushed or shaved ice
Preparation
- 1. Bring sugar and 1 1/4 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat, and stir in drink mix. Cover and chill until ready to serve. Let stand at room temperature about 20 minutes. Spoon 1 to 2 Tbsp. syrup over 1 cup crushed or shaved ice for each serving.
- Note: For testing purposes only, we used Kool-Aid Pink Lemonade drink mix.
