  • 1/2 small red onion
  • 1/2 cup(s) canned white beans rinsed
  • 4 ounce(s) smoked trout (about 3/4 cup)
  • 3 ounce(s) cream cheese
  • 3 tablespoon(s) lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon(s) prepared horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon(s) fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • 1 cucumber thinly sliced


  1. Finely chop half the onion; thinly slice the rest. Mash beans in a medium bowl with a fork until they are mostly broken down. Add the chopped onion, trout, cream cheese, lemon juice, horseradish, parsley, and pepper; stir well to combine with the beans. Serve the spread with a platter of crackers, top with sliced tomato, cucumber, and onion,
