    The best roasted chicken recipe ever! Really makes me wonder why the reviews are all over the board. The chicken was tender and moist and the sauce was exceptional. The only modifications I made was to squeeze an orange instead of using juice and to thicken the sauce with a teaspoon of flour.

    ok for weeknight. However, putting the orange juice in the sauce makes it too sweet. I added extra balsamic vinegar but it was still too sweet. Would add chicken broth and herbs next time.

    There are too many good crock and roast chicken recipes out there to fool with this pale, slimy mess. Flavor is OK but I won't make this again.

    After reading through all the reviews I cooked for less time (5 hours) to make sure the chicken wasn't dry. I agree with the previous reviewer that it wasn't dry but it had a strange texture that wasn't appealing. Won't be making this one again.
