Three-Ingredient Slow-Cooker Barbecue Pork

Hands-on time 10 mins
Total time 8 hrs, 10 mins
Yield Makes 6 to 8 servings
Just three ingredients and 10 minutes of prep work make this a quick-fix supper. Start the slow cooker first thing in the morning and dinner will be ready by 5 p.m. Serve over rice, on hamburger buns, or in loaded baked potatoes, with a side of Orange-Walnut Slaw.

  • 1 (3- to 4-lb.) boneless pork shoulder roast (Boston butt), trimmed
  • 1 (18-oz.) bottle barbecue sauce (such as Cattlemen's Kansas City Classic Barbecue Sauce)
  • 1 (12-oz.) can cola soft drink

How to Make It

  1. Place pork in a lightly greased 6-qt. slow cooker; pour barbecue sauce and cola over pork. Cover and cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours or until meat shreds easily with a fork. Transfer pork to a cutting board; shred with 2 forks, removing any large pieces of fat. Skim fat from sauce, and stir pork into sauce.
