Everybody's favorite gameday sandwich gets a makeover in this melt-in-your-mouth fundido dip. With both ground meat and ground pork sausage, this easy appetizer is not for the faint of heart. Worcestershire sauce adds a tangy zing while green chiles provide a layer of heat. Serve with Fritos at your next watch party, or bring it along to a tailgate.

How to Make It

Step 1

Preheat broiler with oven rack 8 inches from heat.

Step 2

Cook beef, sausage, onion, and bell pepper in a medium skillet over medium-high, stirring constantly to crumble, until beef and sausage are cooked through and lightly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain mixture, and return to skillet.

Step 3

Stir together tomato sauce, ketchup, water, brown sugar, flour, vinegar, mustard, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, and salt in a medium bowl. Pour over beef mixture, and stir to combine. Cover and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, 20 minutes. Stir in green chiles.

Step 4

Transfer mixture to a 2-quart baking dish or cast-iron skillet. Top evenly with cheeses. Broil in preheated oven until cheese is golden and bubbly, 3 to 5 minutes. Serve with corn chips.
