Sleepover Coffee Cake

Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp dry milk powder
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Preparation

Grease and flour 9x13inch baking pan. In large bowl of an electric mixer, combine all cake ingredients. Mix at low speed until wellblended, about 4 minutes. Place in prepared pan.

Mix dry topping ingredients together and sprinkle evenly over the batter. Refrigerate overnight.

The next morning, drizzle with melted butter. Place in preheated oven at 350F and bake for 30 minutes, until top is rich golden brown. Cool for 15 minutes and serve warm.
