This was really yummy!!! I added extra garlic to the sauce and to the chicken to make it taste more like the chicken souvlaki gyros that I had in Greece! So good!

This was really tasty. The yogurt sauce was really fresh! I also used additional seasoning on the chicken. Will make again.

We really liked this but I did make a few changes. I added garlic to the yogurt sauce and actually marinated the chicken in the olive oil, oregano, garlic, salt and pepper overnight (ran out of time). Instead of the side salad I added the kalamata olives and feta to the pita with the tomatoes and sauce. Delicious. The leftovers I used on pizza the next day - also delicious.

Truly excellent! I would definitely make this again. It was relatively quick and very easy to put together. The salad that goes with it is great!

Very good, liked the yogurt sauce a lot, served with hot sauce. Good combination of flavors and textures.

Excellent & comes together quickly. I left the chicken slightly frozen so I could slice it really thin, then seasoned it w/ smoked paprika & cayenne for more flavor. A mandoline makes quick work of the veggies, and the pitas softened nicely w/ a spritz of water and microwaving for 20 sec/each. Made the salad--perfect accompaniment.

YUM, I made this the other night as a quick dinner and it was simpe, yet fabulous! The cucumber yogurt sauce was very subtle, but gave it that extra oomph! Tasted even better the next day, reheated for lunch.

This dinner was such a nice change of pace! I made the sauce first because I wanted it to sit and let the flavors meld together. I thought "Oh no, not enough food" when I served it up, but once we got it loaded into the pitas, it was MORE than enough. I served with the recommended Greek salad. Will make this one again for sure! YUM!

Made this last night, and though it was okay, I won't make it again. After reading some of the tips below, I used Greek seasoning on the chicken instead of just salt and pepper. I also added a sliced red pepper in addition to the green pepper. I found the chicken mixture was still rather bland even with the addition of Greek seasoning. I also found that the pitas pretty much fell apart, but that could be due to the quality of the pitas at my grocery store. The sauce and salad were good, but I won't be making this one again.

This was fantastic! I love chicken souvlaki and I am so glad CL shared this recipe! We made the salad that is recommended with it but omitted the kalamata olives. It took us a while to find pepperocini's but they are located near the pickles (at Giant anyway) and are definitely worth it. For the chicken, I used the Greek Mediterranean Seasoning from World Market to flavor it more than SnP. My fiance hates cucumbers but loved this tzatsiki type sauce with the chicken. It may have taken us a bit longer than 30 minutes like it predicted but it was an easy weeknight meal.

yum, yum! made for dinner the other night and it was so good. I used regular nonfat yogurt, but strained it first so that it was nice and thick like the greek yogurt. Ate the rest for leftovers the next day. Hubby loved it, too!

This was quick, easy and very delicious. I was even able to take the leftover components to work and assemble for a great lunch. I will make this again for sure!

Really flavorful, simple to prepare but impressive for guests. The accompanying salad was excellent also. The magazine claims this a 30-minute meal, but be advised that it takes at least half an hour to prepare all the ingredients. Allow an hour for the whole meal.

I made this dish for the 1st time and would definitely make it again. It was quick and easy and extremely tasty. I made the yogurt sauce the day before which let the flavors blend better. I also doubled the dressing for the salad. Highly recommend for a weeknight meal.

Result is okay - a little bland. It's annoying that the writer chose to put only the souvlaki ingredients in the ingredient list and to consign the salad ingredients to the bottom paragraph of instructions. What's the point of that?

My husband & I both loved this dish. I would definitely make again. I did not alter the recipe in any way. I may have added more garlic.

really delicious and easy, i'd never made my own tzaziki (sp?) before and was really surprised at how easy and delicious it is (much better than store bought!)

Excellent! A great dish and very easy to make. I'm Greek and this tzatziki is very delicious, I frequently will make it just to eat with veggies.

Tasty recipe. I'll definitely make it again. I believe the cucumber sauce would be improved with a little bit of dill, but that's just a personal preference.

I thought this was really yummy. I used red bell peppers (just b/c I don't like green), but otherwise followed the recipe. Oh I also added a bit of garlic to the cucumber sauce.

I have made changes to this recipe but we do enjoy this dish. I added extra seasonings (garlic, oregano, lemon juice, etc) to the chicken. Trader Joe's Tazkiki sauce works well in a pinch when you don't have time to make the sauce. I serve the sandwiches in Trader Joe's garlic naans, with romaine lettuce, feta cheese, chopped cucumbers, red onions and tomatoes on top.

This was a tasty weeknight recipe after a couple of small changes. Based on other reviews, I marinated the chicken overnight in 2 tbsp oil, 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice, 1 tsp oregano and 1 tsp minced garlic. I used red pepper because I don't care for green pepper, fat free fage yogurt and I added 1 tsp of minced garlic to the sauce. I coated the pitas in Pam and heated them one at a time in a frying pan.

While this wasn't extraordinary, it was certainly tasty and made a good summer family dinner. I did marinate the chicken in lemon juice and a greek seasoning blend first, which added flavor. I also just cooked everything together after the chicken began to brown a bit. Served with some steamed baby potatoes and a somewhat larger salad with the terrific salad dressing from the "Greek salad with chicken" CL recipe.

Delicious. Added Greek seasoning to chicken and used organic non-fat regular yogurt in sauce, other than that, followed recipe.
