Shrimp Paste

Use as a sandwich filling or appetizer spread. Boost the flavor with 2 tablespoons chopped green onions or fresh herbs, if desired.

1 pound peeled and cooked shrimp
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 garlic clove, pressed
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper


Process shrimp in a food processor until coarsely ground. Add remaining ingredients, processing until smooth.
