Shrimp Curry
This dish is a huge family favorite, there is a lot of chopping in the beginning but not too much work after. Well worth any work! This is the meal everyone requests for their 'birthday dinner'.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup(s) butter
- 2 cup(s) onion
- 1/2 cup(s) flour
- 1 cup(s) milk
- 1 cup(s) half-and-half
- 1 pinch(s) salt
- 1 tablespoon(s) curry powder
- 2 cup(s) chicken broth
- 3-4 tablespoon(s) white wine
- 2 pound(s) shrimp cooked, peeled
Preparation
- Combine butter and onion until soft and yellow, then add flour, milk, half-and-half, salt, curry and chicken stock. Cook all until thick, then add wine and shrimp. We normally serve this over white rice (just figure out how much per person) and then pass bowls with garnishes in them (we use peanuts, toasted coconut, green onion, bacon bits and chutney) the garnishes are endless, if you cant find major greys mango chutney in your store I have found that the smuckers mango jelly works pretty well too! (my daughter prefers it)
