  • 1 tablespoon light butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 (1-ounce) slices French bread


  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Combine butter, sesame seeds, and pepper in a small bowl. Spread mixture evenly onto each of 4 bread slices. Place bread on a baking sheet, and broil 4 to 5 minutes or until bread is lightly browned and butter mixture is bubbly.
