Seafood Brine
Note that kosher salt is called for in the brine. If using ordinary sea salt, reduce the amount to 1/4 cup.
This recipe goes with Grilled Shrimp with Sangrita
Yield: Makes about 1 quart
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup kosher salt
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1 quart cold water
Preparation
- Combine all ingredients in a large, non-reactive bowl, stirring until salt and sugar dissolve.
