My store didn't have the hot sausage so I used sweet Italian sausage instead. The dish turned out great - the family loved it!

I felt there wasn't much flavor.

This is one of the go-to recipes in my family. We almost always have the ingredients on hand, and it comes together in a snap. When I make it, it's the only think I'll make, so not a side for us. (I usually will double it) We used to be able to enjoy leftovers, but now that the kids are growing, there isn't usually a bit left. Also, I don't buy the boil-in-a-bag rice. I just cook our usual rice in some broth. Really tasty.

I add shrimp to mine. I also season the mushrooms with dale's or Worcestershire sauce. Add a little more Parmesan. It does take some tweaking, but can still be well under 300 for a serving and is very filling.

I used regular brown rice since I don't like the boil-in-bag kind quite as much. I added a bit more red pepper than called for but otherwise followed the recipe. This came together easily and was tasty. I served it alongside CL's Butter-Roasted Carrots.

This was very good, but, admittedly, I changed a lot. I used Trader Joe's Harvest Grains blend instead of brown rice. I used Trader Joe's Turkey Kielbasa and added fresh bell peppers and parsely to the mix. Also added more red pepper and red pepper flakes for a bit of a kick. DELICIOUS and super filling easy meal.

Great time saver, ready in 15 min., very nice flavors Substituted chard for spinach, added some onion and used only 1 Bratwurst ( Niman Ranch ) instead of 2 Italian sausage. for a side I made a green salad with Avocado and roasted lemon Dressing. Yummy.

Good basic dinner for two in ten minutes flat. That warrants a save. Added mushrooms to eke it out instead of making a side dish.

THis was delicious, and amazingly fast! I had it on the table in less than 20 minutes. I made it exactly as written only doubled it. My teen boys gobbled it down. I used the pre-cooked brown basmati rice that comes in a vacuum-sealed bag, which I had never used before and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and nice brown rice chewiness. I think it would be good with baby Bella mushrooms, too.
