My store didn't have the hot sausage so I used sweet Italian sausage instead. The dish turned out great - the family loved it!

I felt there wasn't much flavor.

This is one of the go-to recipes in my family. We almost always have the ingredients on hand, and it comes together in a snap. When I make it, it's the only think I'll make, so not a side for us. (I usually will double it) We used to be able to enjoy leftovers, but now that the kids are growing, there isn't usually a bit left. Also, I don't buy the boil-in-a-bag rice. I just cook our usual rice in some broth. Really tasty.

I add shrimp to mine. I also season the mushrooms with dale's or Worcestershire sauce. Add a little more Parmesan. It does take some tweaking, but can still be well under 300 for a serving and is very filling.

I used regular brown rice since I don't like the boil-in-bag kind quite as much. I added a bit more red pepper than called for but otherwise followed the recipe. This came together easily and was tasty. I served it alongside CL's Butter-Roasted Carrots.

This was very good, but, admittedly, I changed a lot. I used Trader Joe's Harvest Grains blend instead of brown rice. I used Trader Joe's Turkey Kielbasa and added fresh bell peppers and parsely to the mix. Also added more red pepper and red pepper flakes for a bit of a kick. DELICIOUS and super filling easy meal.

Great time saver, ready in 15 min., very nice flavors Substituted chard for spinach, added some onion and used only 1 Bratwurst ( Niman Ranch ) instead of 2 Italian sausage. for a side I made a green salad with Avocado and roasted lemon Dressing. Yummy.

Good basic dinner for two in ten minutes flat. That warrants a save. Added mushrooms to eke it out instead of making a side dish.

THis was delicious, and amazingly fast! I had it on the table in less than 20 minutes. I made it exactly as written only doubled it. My teen boys gobbled it down. I used the pre-cooked brown basmati rice that comes in a vacuum-sealed bag, which I had never used before and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and nice brown rice chewiness. I think it would be good with baby Bella mushrooms, too.

Tasty easy weeknight meal. I used whole package of sweet turkey and box of minute rice to make enough for family dinner and a couple lunches. Everyone loved it. Will definitely make again.

Easy, delicious recipe. It actually looks quite attractive, and you can add something like red bell peppers to add to the color. For the ease of making it and the simplicity of making it attractive for presentation, 5 stars.

Yummy! Used one small jalapeño diced finely instead of the red pepper flakes. Added an extra half bag of spinach too.

Fast and easy, I added red peppers, great use ingredients I has leftover in my fridge, in fact I used the nifty pantry tool to find this dish

Good. Whole Foods doesn't carry turkey sausage around me so I used their atomic chicken, which was not ideal. Turkey has a more meaty flavor and Italian sausage a bit more depth of flavor. It's worth seeking out hot Italian turkey sausage if you can. Also, adding some browned mushrooms would no doubt help to give it some more depth. All that aside, it was a tasty and easy recipe for weeknight.

Everyone loved it. I also used regular brown rice & added some chopped green and red pepper - just to add a little more texture. Because no one in my family eats anything spicy, I used sweet turkey sausage. It was all delicious! Don't skip on the parmesan cheese - very tasty!

I really enjoyed it this dish. I didn't have any cheese on hand, so I omitted and it was just fine. I also added some sauteed onions and oyster sauce and it was delish! I used quinoa instead of rice.

Well, it's probably about the sausage that I got but it was completely inedible. Extremely salty (near as I can tell) - though I added no salt. Could not finish one serving and threw the rest out.

My husband and I really enjoyed this dish. I used our butcher's "homemade" sweet Italian sausage and it was still outstanding. We added red pepper flakes to taste to our own bowls. This will go into our regular rotation.

Really good, we loved it. My store didn't have hot turkey sausage, so I used sweet and added a little more crushed red pepper. Otherwise, made it exactly as stated. Will definitely make again.

Not a big hit with my family. Probably wouldn't make again even though it is an easy dish to throw together.

We didn't like this at all. It was lacking flavor and I even added more sausage to help. After the first taste from the pan I added salt and pepper. My husband does not like a lot of salt but he even said it was super bland.

Quick, easy, one pot dish that even my picky 7 year old daughter liked. Winner! The major make or break in this recipe is the sausage. I used Jennie-O hot Italian sausage and thought it was a little salty. If you don't like it the first time, give it a second try with a different sausage.

Easy, quick and good. I used minute rice, jarred minced garlic and frozen fresh spinach I had on hand. I will definitely make again!

This was a quick, easy dinner that everyone loved! I doubled the recipe, omitted the red pepper, and added only one extra piece of garlic. Definitely will make again
