Sausage Rolls

Flaky, melt in the mouth sausage rolls, ideal for a snack or for a party.

Ingredients

  • 1tbsp butter
  • 1 red onions peeled and sliced
  • 1 bunch(es) fresh sage chopped
  • 1 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
  • 6 good quality sausages
  • 250g puff pastry
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup(s) milk

Preparation

  1. Melt the butter, add the onions and cook for 15-20 mins. Add sage and cook for a few more mins then leave to cool. Skin the sausages, add the onion and sage and mix together, add the breadcrumbs and mix well. Roll out the pastry into a big rectangle to the depth of a pound coin and cut into 2 strips. Roll the meat mixture into 2 sausage shapes and lay onto the pastry. Brush the edges with beaten egg and milk mixture and fold over and seal. Brush again with egg and milk mixture and bake in oven 180c, gas 4, 350F for 25 mins.

  2. Cool and serve.
