Sausage, Pepper, and Onion Pizza

This is a good solid recipe. I did not have canned diced tomatoes so I made my own with chopped fresh tomatoes & tomatoe sauce. Brushed french bread with olive oil and sprinkled granulated garlic before adding sausage mixture. Adding sliced olives before topping with cheese would be good also. Could be "baked" on the grill therefore not heating up the kitchen.

This was fantastic! As recommended I toasted the bread before adding the sausage sauce. I used low fat mozz cheese but think next time I may splurge and go for the full fat - the lowfat just doesn't seem to melt as well (2%). I used 3 links of sausage so there were leftovers for the next day. My son doesn't like the peppers and onions so picked them out for his serving and added turkey pepperoni for him. Will absolutely add to the rotations!

This is a GREAT pizza recipe. I used thin crust refrigerated pizza dough instead of French bread. I also cheated and used 1 hot and 1 sweet Italian sausage AND a little more cheese! Not as healthy but oh so good.

This was so amazing! I cut this recipe in half so used a demi french baguette. I also used italian seasoned diced tomatoes (garlic, basil, oregano) instead of plain diced tomatoes. I took other reviewers advice and toasted the bread in the oven first, then I topped it and put it under the brolier for a few minutes. This beats stoffers french bread pizza by a mile! Served with a green salad w/italian dressing. This is going into the friday night rotation.

Delicious - tasted like it was out of a pizzeria, and not my own kitchen. Unlike other readers, I didn't have a problem with soggy bread, but found my baguette wonderful crispy.

This was absolutely delicious. I used the hot turkey sausage with seasoned diced tomatoes. To avoid a soggy crust I use a slotted spoon to scoop the filling onto the bread and baked it directly on the oven rack (with foil underneath). Nice and crispy! We will be having this one again definitely! Thanks for the recipe :)

Made this tonight for the AFC Championship game. Added garlic and a dollop of sour cream to the onion, pepper, sausage mixture and put it on whole grain pizza dough. Two thumbs up from da boyz in the man cave :) Go Pats!

Rated the recipe three stars, but I must admit to a variation and a suggestion for next time. My guys said I should go ahead and print this out for the file, so perhaps I have underrated it. I made this pizza on Boboli shells; the remainder of the recipe was made as written. Next time I will use hot sausage and add garlic and salt. It was just a bit too bland for my taste.
