Sausage, Grits, Egg Casserole
This recipe is from Southern Living 1986. This is a great make ahead casserole for a big crowd at breakfast time. Good brunch dish also.

Ingredients
- 1 pound(s) sausage cooked till brown and drained
- 3 cup(s) grits hot, cooked (approx. 1/2 cup uncooked)
- 2 1/2 cup(s) cheddar cheese grated
- 3 tablespoon(s) butter
- 3 whole(s) eggs beaten
- 1 1/2 cup(s) milk
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 9 by 13 casserole dish. Brown sausage, crumble and drain. Cook quick grits according to package. Add butter and cheese to cooked grits. Place sausage in bottom of the casserole dish. Beat eggs, add milk. Stir egg, milk mixture into cheesy grits. Pour all of this over the sausage. Bake for one hour.
