After all the great reviews, I was surprised that this didn't turn out very well at all. The sauce was bland and the chicken was dry. With some serious tinkering, I think this could be saved, but there are too many other good recipes to waste that time. We won't be doing this one again.
The sauce is good but the chicken was rather flavorless. It is worth another try but next time I make it I will brown the chicken thighs to enhance the flavor. I added red pepper flakes because I like a little spice. It makes for a light dinner with salad and bread to pick up the extra sauce.
This recipe was super good. I didn't have the diced tomatoes so I used tomato soup which left it a little bland so I added some shredded parmesan cheese and salt. That was just what it needed. I'll definitely make it again.
I thought this recipe was excellent. I made it with boneless chicken breasts instead and they came out so tender and juicy! I served it with spaghetti and green beans and my husband really liked it. I didn't have bottled minced garlic so I had to sub 1t dried minced garlic, but it worked well. I think this would also be good to shred the chicken after cooking to make into a tortilla-like soup. I will definitely make this again.
This was an easy, tasty recipe. I would definitely make it again as part of the regular rotation. It's nothing fancy - but good for family dinner. We had spaghetti (with the extra sauce on it) and brocolli on the side.
Wow! I can't believe no one knows about this great dish! I first found it in the Cooking Light Slow Cooker book, and I just have to rate this here online!! I ENCOURAGE everyone to try it!! So easy to make for the working mom...little bit of beginning prep, and definitely worth it! I have used all ingredients, except substituted Hunts Roasted Garlic Diced Tomatoes instead of italian-style and I use fresh garlic with my garlic presser. No salt needed for those watching salt intake. I rate this recipe a definite 5 STAR PLUS!! The meat slips easily away from the bone. I have paired this dish with buttered noodles and zucchini & cheese casserole as well as dill red potatoes and veggie of choice. There truly isn't a better easy crock-pot recipe out there with great tasting results!!!
