    I agree with the reviewer who said it was almost impossible to break the pretzels to make the antlers. I ended up using random pieces to make mine, because I was too frustrated with trying to break them correctly. I also thought the cookies, when finished, were bland-tasting. I took them to a cookie swap, and, while they looked pretty cute, no one really ate them. Definitely not the best tasting cookies.

    When I saw the 2-star rating I had to respond. I recently made these for a gathering and they were a huge hit. I made the antlers ahead of time and I used big pretzel twists..cut with a serrated knife and a sawing motion and they turned out great. I also used brown MMs for the eyes. Put all on the cookie before baking. Everyone loved them! Definitely a keeper.

    I made these cookies for my family and they loved them! The pretzels were a little bit hard to break the first few times but when you get the hang of it, it was easy. I would definately make these again

    I use prepared peanut butter dough & cut into 1/4 inch slices. No rolling. I used pretzel twists so no breaking needed. Placed pretzels for antlers, choc. chips for eyes & baked. Add red m&m for nose when right out of oven. Great taste & very cute. Must be able to eat peanut butter dough-no allergies.

    I make these with the ginger snap refrigerated dough and use small raisins for the eyes. I just buy the small pretzels and use the whole thing for antlers. Place them right next to each other at the top of the head, as the cookie spreads you'll get a little separation. Look really cute and tastier than the sugar cookie dough.

    My Grandchildren love making these. We use refirgerated dough (either gingerbread or snickerdoodles). The color is better for deer. : ) We also use small whole pretzels for the antlers and raisins for the eyes.

    These cookies are cute and fun. If your goal is to impress, these might not be for you. But if you want to spend quality time with kids or friends with ZERO kitchen stress, this recipe makes it easy. Use the "thin classic" pretzel twists and antlers will be no problem. We laughed a lot making these!

    I have been making these cookies for at least 15 years. I always used the peanut butter dough, but I can't find it anymore so I use sugar. I am not sure why this recipe says to roll out the dough. I just slice it off the cylinder of dough and then pinch the circle and go from there. I also use regular chocolate chips and a red m&m. I also use the whole small pretzel twist. They are adorable on a platter! I teach 1st grade and make them for my students every year, they are always a huge hit. You can also sprinkle some brown sprinkles on them too!
