Romaine Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette

    I really liked this. I loved that I could tasted the shallots, the feta, and balsamic together. DH thought it tasted like dressing. DH made it, said it was easy. He didn't used cherries, but added cucumbers and tomatoes. DH said he would like candied walnuts in it.

    This salad garnered rave reviews from two men who initially thought it looked too fussy. One of them (the one who lives in our house, not our guest) said he started eating it just to make me happy but then found himself really enjoying it, much to his surprise!

    I loved this salad. Moreover I loved how easy it was to make. I'd recommend making it ahead of the rest of the meal because the flavors of the individual ingredients blend to enhance the overall flavor of the salad. I paired it with the Ginger -Soy Chicken Thighs, Cooking Light, November 2010

    Very good. Not sure if my garlic clove was larger than most, but my dressing was garlicy, but very enjoyable. Liked the cherries in the recipe, but will try goat cheese in the future.

    Had been searching for a simple, "just right" balsamic vinaigrette and I've found it! I used goat cheese in place of the feta and made my own candied walnuts w/ orange juice and zest and a little sugar. Really put this recipe over the top--definitely good enough to serve for company. A real keeper.

    Excellent dressing - wow! It's now my "go to" vinegraite. I used cranberries and goat cheese instead of feta. Rave reviews from dinner guests:)

    Excellent salad! I added sliced pears on top after plating the salad. Looked very festive and right for Fall. This is a salad dressing that does not compete with red wine. Some salad dressings can "sour" the wine due to a vinegar content. Not this one. Of course, I used a very high end balsamic vinegar. Worth the expense. So far, served to 2 dinner parties and all the guests raved. I do agree with others that making ahead is recommended for optimum blending of flavors. I did remove the smashed garlic before pouring on greens. No one wants that bite!

    This is another favorite recipe in our household from CL!;)) I made it to the T & my husband is so in love with it that the next time he went to Whole Foods he brought me 3 containers of feta cheese so I can make it almost on a daily basis!! A success! ;) Thanks again CL! <3
