This is another favorite recipe in our household from CL!;)) I made it to the T & my husband is so in love with it that the next time he went to Whole Foods he brought me 3 containers of feta cheese so I can make it almost on a daily basis!! A success! ;) Thanks again CL!
Excellent salad! I added sliced pears on top after plating the salad. Looked very festive and right for Fall. This is a salad dressing that does not compete with red wine. Some salad dressings can "sour" the wine due to a vinegar content. Not this one. Of course, I used a very high end balsamic vinegar. Worth the expense. So far, served to 2 dinner parties and all the guests raved. I do agree with others that making ahead is recommended for optimum blending of flavors. I did remove the smashed garlic before pouring on greens. No one wants that bite!
Had been searching for a simple, "just right" balsamic vinaigrette and I've found it! I used goat cheese in place of the feta and made my own candied walnuts w/ orange juice and zest and a little sugar. Really put this recipe over the top--definitely good enough to serve for company. A real keeper.
