- 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons fat from roast of beef
- 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- Pan drippings from roast of beef
- Salt and pepper to taste
How to Make It
Combine fat and flour in a heavy skillet; stir until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until browned.
Combine pan drippings and water to equal 3 cups. Gradually add pan drippings mixture to skillet; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in salt and pepper. Serve hot with roast beef.
