Ingredients

  • 2 quarts cold water
  • 1 cup regular grind coffee
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Dash of salt
  • 1/2 cup cold water

Preparation

Bring 2 quarts cold water to a boil in a large pot. Combine coffee, egg, 2 tablespoons water, and salt in a small bowl; stir well. Stir coffee mixture into boiling water. Return to a boil, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; pour 1/2 cup cold water over coffee mixture to settle grounds. Let stand 10 minutes. Serve hot in coffee mugs.
