Rich Chocolate Sauce

Yield 1 1/2 cups


  • 3 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine

How to Make It

  1. Melt chocolate in top of a double boiler over boiling water. Add sugar, whipping cream, and salt, stirring constantly. Cook over boiling water until smooth. Add butter; cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until butter melts. Serve at room temperature or cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
