    I agree, this is NOT Rhode Island chowder...which I have been making for more than 35 years. RI chowder is salt pork, quahogs (that's hard-shell clams) and their juice, potatoes, onions, water, salt (if needed), and pepper. Period! Who wrote this recipe?? Tomatoes-Cream-Basil--yikes!
