Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup dry sherry
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 4 (6-ounce) tuna steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  1. 1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a small bowl, stirring well with a whisk. Set aside.
  2. 2. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Sprinkle steaks with pepper and salt; add steaks to pan. Cook 4 minutes on each side or until steaks are medium-rare or desired degree of doneness. Transfer to a serving dish, and keep warm. Pour sherry mixture into pan. Cook 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until reduced to 2 tablespoons, stirring to deglaze pan; pour over steaks.
