Quick Chocolate and Fruit Crêpes

Yield 4 servings (serving size: 1 crepe)
Using small flour tortillas saves you the time and trouble of making crêpes from scratch, and they're delicious!

  • 4 (8-inch) flour tortillas
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 ripe, peeled, and very thinly sliced apples, peaches, pears; or 1 cup mixed berries, plus additional fruit for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

How to Make It

  1. Place a large skillet over moderate heat. Put one tortilla in the skillet and heat for 1 minute. Flip the tortilla, and sprinkle it with one-quarter of the chips and one-quarter of the fruit; heat 3 to 4 minutes, or until chocolate melts, spinning the tortilla frequently to make sure it doesn't stick to the pan.

  2. Just before the crêpe is done, sprinkle on 1/2 tablespoon of the sugar. Fold the tortilla in half and remove from heat. Let cool for a minute; the chocolate tends to be very hot. Repeat with remaining tortillas, chocolate, fruit, and sugar. Sprinkle each with berries; serve.

  3. How kids can help: Top cooked crêpes with berries.
