Quick Chocolate Frosting

Yield enough for one (8- nch) 2-layer cake


  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (6-ounce) package semisweet chocolate morsels
  • About 3 cups sifted powdered sugar

How to Make It

  1. Combine butter, milk, and salt in a heavy saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until butter is melted. Remove from heat. Add chocolate morsels, and beat until smooth; cool.

  2. Gradually add sugar, beating until thick enough to spread. If necessary, add additional sugar to obtain spreading consistency.
