When you need a barbecue sauce at the last minute, you can't go wrong with this 6-ingredient, 5-minute sauce. And all of the ingredients are probably already in your pantry.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation

  1. In a small saucepan, over low heat, combine the ketchup, vinegar, molasses, mustard, water, salt, and pepper. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Baste the meat, chicken, or seafood with the sauce during the last 10 minutes of grilling.
