A chocolate-coated, powdered sugar-doused cereal treat is the perfect, portable dessert for shareable snacking. Classic Puppy Chow comes together in under 10 minutes using just a few simple ingredients. It's always a fan-favorite dessert, but if sharing isn't your style, curl up with your remote and a gigantic bowl and indulge all by yourself. Either way, we're not judging.
6 cups crispy rice cereal squares (such as Rice Chex)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup powdered sugar
How to Make It
Place cereal in a large bowl; set aside.
Combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in a small, microwave-safe glass bowl; microwave for 1 minute or until mixture begins to melt. Remove from microwave and stir. Microwave an additional 30 seconds and stir until smooth. Stir in vanilla.
Add chocolate mixture to cereal in bowl; stir gently to evenly coat. Place mixture in a large, zip-top plastic bag. Add powdered sugar to bag. Seal bag; shake until cereal mixture is fully coated. Transfer mixture to a rimmed baking sheet lined with wax paper; cool completely. Store in an airtight container up to 1 week.
