This sandwich was delicious and quite easy to make. My grocery store did not have individual hawaiian buns, so I used the big round loaf. It turned out great and the presentation using the big loaf was lovely. This is a keeper in our house.

Oh, this is good. A mite salty, so I'd use just a bit of mustard next time.

These are very tasty. I made a few small modifications - first I couldn't find the right size Hawaiian rolls so I had to use smaller ones and made 2 extra sandwiches. Second, I used olive oil Pam instead of the olive oil and garlic. Finally, I cooked them on a panini press. The flavors melded together really well and I the sweetness of the Hawaiian rolls added a lot.

This recipe has become a family favorite, ever since I made it when it was first published in Cooking Light. While not a tradtional Cubano, it's a lightened version that's really good. I can't find Hawaiian rolls here, either; in the past I used potato rolls, but lately I've been using sandwich thins with very good results.

One of my family's most favorite sandwiches! So good. A little time consuming but oh so worth it. Cilantro, dill pickles, mustard and hawaiian bread. Who would have thought! Amazing
