Ingredients
- 3 tablespoon(s) butter
- 1 Medium onion
- 1 large garlic clove
- 6 russett potatoes peeled, thinly sliced
- 3 cup(s) water
- 2 cup(s) milk
- 2 cup(s) cheddar cheese grated
- salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Melt butter in a soup pot ans fry the onion for 3 minutes (do not let them brown). Add garlic and continue to saute 1-2 minutes. Add potatoes and water, bring to a boil. reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender. Mix vigorously with spoon and add milk and spices. Cover and cook over medium heat until milk simmers then add cheese and stir till it melts.
