Potato-and-Gruyère Casserole

    Worthy of a Special Occasion

    Instead of layering, I sauteed the onions and then mixed them into the sauce, along with the cheese. Poured over the potatoes in a 2 qt. baking dish once it was melted and baked until bubbly. Delicious!

    I recently made this casserole for a dinner party. I was hesitant to try a new recipe when entertaining, but Love Gruyere cheese, and have trusted Southern Living Recipes all of my life, so I took the leap. I am so glad that I did, it is absolutely delicious and the presentation is beautiful. The recipe takes a little extra time and preparation, but is well worth it...
