3 large firm pears, peeled, cored, and halved lengthwise
4 tablespoons plain 2% reduced-fat Greek yogurt
How to Make It
Combine wine, water, sugar, salt, star anise, and cinnamon stick in a medium saucepan; bring to a simmer. Add pears; cover and simmer 25 minutes or until tender. Serve 1 pear half with 1/4 cup cooking liquid and 2 teaspoons yogurt.
I really enjoyed this recipe as did my guests. It was super easy and seems like an upscale dinner party dish. I added a little cinnamon and sugar on top of the yogurt and it was PERFECTION. I should also mention that star anise isn't easy to find, so I purchased anise seeds instead (spice aisle) and used about 1 teaspoon and it worked just fine.
