Pizza Sauce

Yield Makes 3 cups

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

How to Make It

  1. Saute onion and garlic in hot oil in a large skillet over medium heat 10 minutes or until tender.

  2. Process tomatoes in a blender or food processor until smooth; stir into onion mixture. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally; cool. Process in a blender, in batches, until smooth.
