Pie Dough
This recipe goes with Open-Face Apple Pie with Salted Pecan Crumble
Yield: Makes 1 (9-inch) pastry
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
- 3 tablespoons ice water
Preparation
- Pulse flour and salt in a food processor until combined. Add butter and shortening, and pulse until crumbly. With processor running, gradually add ice water, processing until dough forms a ball and leaves sides of bowl, adding more ice water, if necessary. Cover and chill 30 minutes.
