  • 1/2 cup pine nuts, toasted
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 cups loosely packed fresh basil leaves
  • 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


  1. Process pine nuts and garlic in a food processor until blended. Add basil; process until finely chopped. With processor running, gradually add oil in a slow, steady stream. Add lemon juice, cheese, and salt; process until mixture has a thick consistency.
