Peppery Molasses Cookies

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
- Additional sugar
Preparation
- Beat butter and sugar in a large bowl until fluffy. Beat in egg; add molasses.
- Combine flour and next 4 ingredients. Gradually add to butter mixture; mix well. Form into one-inch balls and roll in sugar. Arrange 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes. Remove and cool on wire racks.
