Peppermint Ice Cream Bonbons

Has anyone actually tried this?! No matter how frozen your your ice cream and cool your chocolate---the chocolate melts the ice cream. I even tried making mine IN the freezer. It was a disaster. The ice cream came off in the chocolate. The ones that made it to the tray looked terrible. I ended up not using them for the event. That said, the ugly ones tasted divine....

I tried it last year with the same disasterous results! The chocolate just doesn't stick to the ice cream! These are too cute not to do, so this year I just used Magic Shell. :)
