  • 4 fresh tuna steaks
  • 4 tablespoon(s) wasabi sauce
  • 1 cup(s) mayonnaise
  • 2 1/2 tablespoon(s) soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon(s) fresh ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon(s) peanut oil

  1. Place 4 tablespoons of wasabi sauce in a small bowl and whisk in 1 cup mayonnaise. Cover and refrigerate at least 30 minutes. Can be made one day ahead.
  2. Combine tuna and soy sauce in a medium bowl; toss to coat. Marinate tuna for 30 minutes in the refrigerator, turning occasionally.
  3. Remove and drain the tuna steaks from the soy sauce.
  4. Season the tuna steaks with pepper.
  5. Heat the peanut oil a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tuna to the hot oil and sear until browned on both sides, about 4 minutes total.
