Pecan Pie Bars

    I liked the idea of making these and giving them in goodie boxes rather than the traditional pie. They cooked up very nicely and looked very good. At this time I am on a diabetic diet so was not able to try them; however, I did keep and freeze two pieces to eat at a later date. I anticipate they will be very good. I did use 1 cup of pecans rather than 1/2 cup.

    I made these to take to our work Christmas party, and one of the gals asked who made the pecan bars, so I humbly took ownership. I saved a third and froze it. Last night, I took the remaining and served it to my company and they loved it and wanted the recipe. I'll be making these over and over again. They were delicious and so easy to make! BTW, I lined my pan with foil and greased the foil. It made for easy removal and clean-up.

    These are delicious and so easy. I put in 1 cup of pecans and hubby and I ate half of them for dessert last night. A definite repeat.

    Worthy of a Special Occasion

    I made this for Thanksgiving as an alternative to pecan pie. Although they were very easy to make and looked beautiful they were dry and had very little taste. I will not try them again. I had hoped for something that tasted more like a pecan pie since they were called "Pecan Pie Bars".
