Pear-Pecan Haroset

This recipe comes from Arkansas, where pecans are grown locally. Pears add soft, mellow flavor. Try this haroset with fish.

2 cups shredded peeled Golden Delicious apple (about 1 pound)
1 cup shredded peeled Bartlett pear (about 3/4 pound)
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon honey
1/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans


Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl. Fold in chopped pecans. Refrigerate 2 hours in an airtight container.
