Pear-Cranberry Sauce

You can substitute an apple for one of the pears to vary this simple sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup fresh cranberries
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 Bartlett pears, peeled and coarsely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon grated orange rind

Preparation

  1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a small saucepan. Cover and cook over medium-low heat 25 minutes or until cranberries pop, stirring occasionally.
  2. Remove from heat; stir in sugar and rind. Cool to room temperature.
